In this episode, grounded in 3 John 1:2, we connect what most women separate: pursuing everything you’re called to do and being in health are not competing priorities—they are directly linked. Your home is not neutral; it is either fueling your energy, clarity, and stamina or quietly draining the very capacity you need to sustain your goals, your family, and your work. When you begin to reduce your toxic load and align your environment with your well-being, you don’t just feel better—you function at a higher level in everything you’re building.
🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃
Hey Friend,
You’re pursuing a lot—and you’re meant to.
But being in health isn’t separate from that--it’s what supports it.
Your home is either helping you show up with energy, clarity, and capacity…or it’s quietly working against you in ways you may not have fully considered.
The good news is—you can shift that.
If you’re ready to take a closer look at what’s actually supporting your health at home, I’d love to walk through it with you.

The fabrics closest to your skin—bras, underwear, camisoles, and sports bras—may be influencing your comfort and daily exposure more than most women realize. In this bonus episode, Cynthia shares why breathable natural fabrics matter and how small clothing choices can be a simple step toward a more non-toxic lifestyle.
- - - - -
Most women think about improving their health through food, exercise, or supplements.
But very few ever stop to consider the fabrics touching their skin for 10–14 hours every day.
In this bonus episode of Start Living Sustainable, Cynthia explores how the garments closest to your skin—bras, underwear, camisoles, and sports bras—can become an overlooked source of everyday exposure.
Drawing on her background in sustainable fashion design and textile science, Cynthia explains how synthetic fabrics like polyester behave against the skin compared with breathable natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, and silk.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• Why the fabrics closest to your skin deserve more attention• How synthetic fabrics can trap heat and moisture• The difference breathable natural fibers can make in daily comfort• Practical advice for wearing sports bras during workouts• Why changing into breathable fabrics after exercise can help your skin recover• Simple ways to begin transitioning toward a more non-toxic lifestyle

Your body resets hormones and repairs itself while you sleep — but your bedroom environment may quietly interfere with that process.
In Part 3 of the What Touches Your Skin 24/7? series, we look at how bedding, mattresses, and bedroom air quality can influence sleep, hormones, and recovery — and why natural fibers and healthier sleep surfaces deserve a closer look.
🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃
Hey Friend!
Your body does some of its most important work while you sleep.
Hormones rebalance. Cells repair. Your nervous system resets.
Sleep isn’t passive — it’s biological restoration.
But many women never stop to consider the environment surrounding them for six to eight hours every night.
Your sheets. Your mattress. Your bedroom air.
In Part 3 of the What Touches Your Skin 24/7? series, we step into the bedroom and look at why your sleep environment matters more than most people realize.
Inside this episode, we talk about:
• Why nighttime exposure can matter more than daytime exposure• How PFAS treatments and formaldehyde finishes show up in bedding and sheets• What mattress off-gassing can mean for indoor air quality• Why natural fibers like cotton, linen, and wool support a healthier sleep environment• Simple shifts that can help create deeper, more restorative sleep
This isn’t about fear or throwing everything out.
It’s about paying attention to the things that touch your body the longest — and choosing materials that support the kind of health and sleep your body was designed for.
If you'd like help identifying where to start inside your home, that's exactly what we do inside my Healthy Home & Body Reset Sessions.

You’ve cleaned up what you’re eating. You read ingredient labels — most of the time.
But what about what you wear for hours?
In Part 2 of this series, we’re looking at synthetic activewear — polyester, nylon, spandex — and the chemical treatments that don’t show up on the tag, including PFAS and formaldehyde-based finishes. If leggings are your everyday uniform, this conversation matters. Because when something becomes your second skin, it deserves a closer look.🍃 🍃 🍃
Hey Friend,
As a wellness coach, I find that most women focus on food first. That’s wise.
But your activewear often becomes your second skin — worn for workouts, errands, travel, sometimes all day.
Polyester, nylon, and spandex dominate modern leggings. Most of these synthetic fabrics are finished with PFAS for water resistance, treated with formaldehyde-based resins, or infused with antimicrobial chemicals. Those treatments don’t clearly appear on the label. And when you live in something for hours at a time, contact changes the exposure conversation.
In this episode, I break down:
• Why synthetic fibers became standard• What PFAS and formaldehyde-based finishes are used for• Why long wear deserves more scrutiny• And the simplest shift: choosing natural fiber alternatives that reduce unnecessary exposure
Because when you remove what’s unnecessary, you give your body room to function well.

What touches your skin 24/7 matters—and it’s not just skincare. In this episode, I break down the textile layer of your life: clothing, bedding, rugs, and how fabric choices and treatments can affect both skin contact and indoor air quality.
You’ll walk away with a simple way to prioritize what to address first—without overhauling your wardrobe or your home—so you can make smarter choices moving forward.
🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿
Hey health-conscious friend—quick question: when was the last time you looked at a fabric label the way you look at an ingredient label? Most women don’t. And that’s why this episode matters—because your sheets, lounge sets, rugs, and “performance” fabrics are in the background of your life every single day… quietly doing their job.
Here’s your simple takeaway: don’t try to fix everything. Pick one high-contact category (sleeping, sweating, or being barefoot at home) and start there. If you want me to help you choose the right first move—so you don’t waste money on the wrong swaps—apply for a Healthy Home Audit below.

You’re already focused on clean eating and workouts — so if your results feel slower than they should, there may be one overlooked piece that can enhance everything you’re doing. In this episode, we talk about reducing your toxic load, especially inside your home, and why it’s no longer optional for true wellness.
Because wellness isn’t just what you eat and how you move — it’s also what your body is exposed to every day, and that can influence your hormones, brain health, energy, and long-term well-being. (Also, if you’re listening mid-workout… yes, this is your gentle reminder to take a sip of water. I use a timer. No shame.)
🍃 🍃 🍃
Hey, health-conscious friend 💛
If you’re doing all the things — eating (pretty) clean, workouts, trying to stay consistent — and you still feel like your results could be better, today’s episode is for you. We’re talking about the third pillar most women overlook: reducing your toxic load, starting right at home.
Here’s what we get into:• Why clean eating + workouts aren’t the whole picture• How your environment can impact hormones, brain health, and energy• Simple places to start so you don’t get overwhelmed (or start side-eyeing your couch at midnight)

Most women think “forever chemicals” are only a kitchenware problem—until they realize everyday PFAS exposure can also come from the clothing they wear. In this episode of Start Living Sustainable, Cynthia—bringing 20+ years in fashion and textile science—breaks down what PFAS are, why they persist, how repeated exposure can quietly interfere with hormones and energy, and what it looks like to move from awareness to intentional action with order instead of overwhelm.
🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃 🍃
Hey Friend—if this episode made you pause, that’s not you being dramatic. That’s you being awake.
PFAS (forever chemicals) aren’t just something you hear about in non-stick pans and kitchenware. They can also show up in what we wear—including yoga pants and other “performance” clothing we reach for when we’re trying to take care of ourselves.
And I want you to remember this: the goal isn’t to panic. The goal is to get clear.
Here’s what I want you to take with you from this episode:
“Forever” means these chemicals can linger, so repeated exposure matters
This isn’t about one item—it’s about what your body is in contact with often
When you reduce the right things first, your body has more room to function well
You don’t need to change everything—just start with what has the most contact and time
If you’re feeling that quite nudge to finally get this handled—not perfectly, just intentionally—I’m here for that.
